Psychiatry EMR for psychiatrists in India
For adult and child psychiatrists and de-addiction clinics: a full case record by taps, rating scales, safer prescribing and privacy built in. Diagnoses and warnings are suggestions; the psychiatrist decides.
What the Psychiatry module does
- Case record by taps: informants, history and mental status examination, with "Other" for anything not listed.
- Suggested ICD-10 diagnosis: worked out from the case record; the psychiatrist confirms it or writes their own.
- Rating scales: PHQ-9, GAD-7, C-SSRS, AUDIT, CIWA-Ar, HAM-D, HAM-A, YMRS, BPRS, Y-BOCS, MMSE, EPDS and child scales such as Vanderbilt, with a trend over visits.
- Risk flag: suicidal ideas from the MSE, scales or today's follow-up raise a clear banner.
- Medicine timeline and monitoring: every medicine and dose change at a glance; lithium, valproate, clozapine and antipsychotic tests due.
- Prescribing warnings: benzodiazepine taper, lithium with painkillers, valproate in women of child-bearing age, and controlled medicines on video consultations.
- De-addiction: days sober, relapses, money saved, drinks calculator in Indian measures, detox and anti-craving plans.
- Child and adolescent: school and development, growth before stimulants, school and IQ referral letters.
- Discreet and private: prescription without the diagnosis, private notes never printed, Mental Healthcare Act 2017 fields and certificates.

Questions
Does the prescription show the psychiatric diagnosis?
Not by default. Discreet print leaves out the diagnosis and psychiatric wording on the printout, PDF and WhatsApp. It can be switched on for a patient. Private notes are never printed or sent.
Which rating scales are included?
PHQ-9, GAD-7, C-SSRS, AUDIT, CIWA-Ar, HAM-D, HAM-A, YMRS, BPRS, Y-BOCS, HMSE, MMSE and EPDS for adults, and Vanderbilt, PHQ-A, SDQ, ISAA and SCARED for children, with bands and a trend over visits.
Does Vitalis make the diagnosis?
No. It suggests ICD-10 codes from the case record. The psychiatrist confirms, changes or ignores them.
Does it help with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017?
It records the nominated representative, advance directive and capacity on the case record, and makes certificates and letters you can edit, print or share.
Does it warn about controlled medicines on video consultations?
Yes. When a consultation is marked as video and a controlled (NDPS) medicine is prescribed, a warning refers to the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines.
What does it cost?
Rs 4,500 a year per doctor including GST, after a 90-day free trial. One payment covers 12 months and there is no auto-renewal.
